I am really pleased to announce that Your Tax Matters Partner will be promoting the Boston Tax Institute. The Boston Tax Institute has long been the best Continuing Professional Education value for CPAs in New England. BTI seminars used to be at meeting rooms in conveniently located motels and conference centers. There was coffee and Danish and you were on your own for lunch. There was a great camaraderie as the orientation was toward working CPAs who had practical problems to solve.
Covid-19 forced a radical shift in the BTI model. Lucien Gauthier (Lu) has moved to Zoom and he is not moving back. He was concerned that the interaction with students, many of whom are practitioners with many years of experience would be lost, but it has worked out. The great thing about this is that it makes the courses available nationwide. On-demand recordings are also available.
I am on the faculty of Boston Tax Institute and will be offering a course on Code Section 183 Hobby Losses this spring.
