Opportunity Zones – What Are They Good For?

The OZ program has attracted a great deal of criticism over its efficacy and lack of transparency. We argue that the core deficiency of the program is that it lacks a clearly defined purpose. Over and over again courts have said that there is nothing sinister in so arranging one’s affairs as to keep taxes as low as possible.
